Marvel Studios has long hinted at mutants and the "X-Men," leaving fans curious about whether and when these popular heroes will join the larger cinematic universe.

So far, it has been revealed that "Thunderbolts" director Jake Schreier will be leading the MCU's version of X-Men. Following many months without any news, Schreier has finally shared a significant update.
During an interview with Empire Magazine, Shreier mentioned that preparations are underway for the "X-Men" movie.

Speaking with Empire, Schreier is beginning to set the plans in motion for his X-Adventure. 'I can’t reveal much about it, but we’ve begun working on X-Men, which is clearly incredibly exciting,' he says. 'There are numerous aspects I was unaware of prior to joining Thunderbolts*.'
The steepest lesson for me was understanding the balance between action sequences and the more emotionally focused, character-centered moments. Even though there were more filming days than I’ve experienced before, those days tended to disappear fast due to the intensity of the action scenes. When we reached the conclusion, it seemed like, "Oh, now I think we have a better grasp of how to handle this."
Schreier has started working on the "X-Men" movie and is incorporating some of the insights gained from "Thunderbolts." This development is exciting and may indicate that fans could learn about the mutants in the film within just a few months.
Although "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" featured the return of Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and "Deadpool and Wolverine" included characters such as Gambit (Channing Tatum), there are still no confirmed new mutant characters introduced so far.
Several accounts suggest that numerous mutants from the FOX period may make a comeback in "Avengers: Doomsday," although this involves neither fresh performers nor individuals taking on the role of the X-Men within the MCU.
Two established MCU mutants are Namor (played by Tenoch Huerta), featured in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," and Ms. Marvel, who has her own series on Disney+."
Even with these changes, it remains uncertain whether characters like Cyclops, Rogue, Storm, Beast, and several other frequently requested mutants will appear in the latest "X-Men" movie.
