An early acquaintance of the White House Deputy Chief of Staff and the mastermind behind the President Donald Trump 's mass deportation efforts, Stephen Miller , is speaking out about his supposed previous relationship with him, referring to Miller as a "Dark Clown" who aims to remove immigrants.
Jason Islas states that he was acquainted with Miller during their childhood in Santa Monica, California However,Islas stated to The Daily Mail that Miller ended their friendship abruptly during their teenage years once he discovered his Latin American background.
Miller has served as the main opponent in Trump's large-scale removal efforts, stating in June that he wished for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to increase daily arrests to 3,000.

Islands mentioned that one day, prior to when he and Miller were set to begin high school in 1999, Miller reached out to him and stated that they could no longer spend time together. The two are believed to have initially met while studying at Franklin Elementary School in the progressive seaside town. They remained classmates at the neighboring Lincoln Middle School, with Islands even being present at Miller's bat mitzvah.

I recall ending the call and thinking, 'I suppose that’s it.' It felt somewhat strange.
Islands mentioned that his family has been living in the U.S. for several decades and multiple generations after migrating from Mexico.
Interestingly, Miller's own family history as an immigrant goes back to his mother's great-grandparents, who migrated to the U.S. from the Russian Empire in the early 1900s. They entered the country via Ellis Island following their escape from anti-Jewish persecution.
Islands stated that the summer telephone conversation was the final time they spoke, even though they both attended the same high school—but with a student population of 3,000, their lives seldom intersected.
Miller's former high school friends have mentioned that it was around this time when Miller began adopting his aggressive attitude and right-wing beliefs.
Islands characterized him as a " performer" who often "talked too much."
Islands stated that Miller looked like a "shadowy comedian."
Individuals considered him ominous, yet none regarded him with sufficient seriousness," he stated. "We never anticipated his involvement in the primary political conversation. He was an extremist figure. He served as a representative of a particular belief system and wasn't viewed as a genuine force in politics.
He mentioned that Miller was viewed as "more of a potential cable news figure rather than a policy maker."
During an earlier conversation with the Hollywood Reporter, Nikki Fiske, Miller's third-grade instructor at Franklin Elementary School, once likened Miller, who was 8 years old at the time, to the Peanuts character Pigpen, known for his constant cloud of dirt in the comic strips.
She mentioned that the younger Miller kept his desk untidy and was considered a "weird guy."
"I recall how he'd take a bottle of adhesive and spread it onto his arm, allow it to dry, remove it, and afterward consume it," she mentioned.
She mentioned that he had "very unusual personal behaviors. He was a solitary person who kept to himself constantly."
Islas stated that Miller represents an unusual mix of someone who is both politically astute and deeply committed. He adheres to this ethnic nationalist perspective. He currently holds significant influence—and is using it. He is undoubtedly one of the strongest individuals within the Trump administration.
He mentioned that he had almost lost track of Miller until the beginning of the 2016 presidential campaign. He noted that he had nearly overlooked Miller until the onset of the 2016 presidential race. He stated that he had mostly forgotten about Miller until the launch of the 2016 presidential campaign.
He mentioned the experience felt "unreal and quite intangible. I thought, 'I suppose this is actually occurring.'"
