SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS - Residents of Shreveport can now monitor the development of significant infrastructure initiatives throughout the city following the introduction of an innovative online portal designed to enhance openness and community involvement.
On July 11th, Mayor Tom Arceneaux declared that the Capital Projects Dashboard has been launched, providing an efficient method for residents to access information about road maintenance, water and sewage upgrades, building remodels, and security enhancements supported by the city's bonds from 2021 and 2024.
The dashboard, accessible at capitalprojects.shreveportla.gov or through the city’s website shows the information for every project.
"There are 163 initiatives available on the site, and you can determine for each specific project if it has been approved for funding, is currently being designed, is ready for construction, or is open for bids. A great deal of details can be accessed through this," says Mayor Arceneaux.
Community members have the ability to sort initiatives based on area, category, or stage to view developments occurring within their local areas.
Mayor Arceneaux commended the City's Information Technology Division, headed by Shocker Creal, for creating the platform, enhancing its availability to citizens.
"The control panel is quite easy to use; it's very straightforward," says Mayor Arceneaux.
Alongside project details, the dashboard includes a "Report a Issue" button that immediately links to Port City 311 an online system used by residents of the city to alert municipal workers about issues with public facilities.
Users will also see a "FAQs" section on the homepage, which provides responses to common inquiries and allows residents to access the latest information regarding every capital project.
