New York City Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani appeared poised to secure victory in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor on Tuesday evening, as early vote tallies revealed stronger-than-anticipated backing and an increasing advantage over his opponent, the ex-New York Governor. Andrew Cuomo .

When 69% of the reports were in, Mamdani held approximately 44% of the votes, with Cuomo close behind at 35.7%.
