WICHATA, Kan. (KSNW) — On Thursday evening, a serious accident occurred involving a semitrailer and a pickup truck, resulting in significant injuries for one individual. The incident took place shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Kansas Highway 42 near 135th Street West.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a Ford Ranger traveling north on 135th Street West did not come to a halt at the stop sign and collided with the trailer of a semitruck moving east on K-42.
The operator of the pickup, a 26-year-old from Wichita, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized. In contrast, the driver of the semitruck, who hails from Phoenix, suffered only slight injuries and did not require transportation to a medical facility.
