President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” could terminate financial support for Planned Parenthood.
On June 24, Governor Gavin Newsom’s office said In a press release, Newsom cautioned that passing the budget bill would essentially cut off funding for Planned Parenthood.
Leaders from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund said This would imply nearly 200 healthcare facilities across the country might be at risk of closing down.

The groups affected most are people of color and low-income individuals lacking access to reliable transportation to reach those locations. Thus, it poses a substantial challenge for these rural communities.
Simpson expressed concern because many individuals rely on Planned Parenthood for healthcare due to the challenges in finding nearby primary care physicians and accessing local clinics.
Planned Parenthood provides contraceptive services, abortion procedures, mental health assistance, gender-confirming care, as well as numerous additional resources.
Simpson informed KRCR that she is concerned about the potential restricted access to healthcare for individuals in Shasta County who face economic hardships due to the possible defunding of PlannedParenthood.
Garcia stated, "The fight isn’t over yet. Our priority is safeguarding essential services regardless of circumstances, making sure our patients continue to get the necessary care. Even with attempts to cut federal funding for us, we aim to collaborate with our state allies to find methods to maintain these vital services within California."
