TOPEKA ( KSNT Trick-or-treating during summertime?
On Thursday, the NOTO Arts District came alive as children and their families flooded the streets for "Summerween," an eerie festivity with a sugary surprise.
Noto was brimming with tiny creatures, action heroes, and royal characters, as children adorned in costumes went from house to house for trick-or-treating. This occasion, an entertaining twist on Halloween, included nearby stores distributing sweets, crafting activities, and various goodies.
A major player jumped into the festivities. The candy behemoth, Mars, sent out its Halloween crew to make the day even more delightful.
We produce all the fun-sized and miniature candies that end up in your trick-or-treaters' bags each year," said Brian Pardo, MARS Site Director. "Given how popular and widespread Summerween has become, we felt that nothing could be more fitting than bringing Summerween to Topeka, which is known as the capital of Halloween.
The "Summerween" celebration is part of an increasing movement aimed at bringing joyful festivities into the summertime.
