How I figured out today’s Connections puzzle
Cape, Robe, Halo, and Wings might be components of an angel outfit. 🟩
I believe MARX, BLUES, CHEMICAL, and BLOOD could pair well with "brothers."
Oh, I see a Sesame Street Category, indeed. MONSTER, COUNT, GROUCH, and BIRD are components within character names. You have Cookie MONSTER, COUNT von COUNT, Oscar the GROUCH, and Big BIRD. 🟦
This leaves us with CHIC, FRESH, CURRENT, and HAPPENING; these terms all describe something that is trendy or stylish. 🟨
How to play Connections
I have a full guide to playing Connections , but for a quick reminder of the rules:
First, locate the Connections game. On the New York Times homepage or in their Games app (previously known as the Crossword app). The interface displays a game board consisting of 16 tiles, where each tile contains either a single word or a phrase. Your task involves picking a set of four tiles that share some connection. Typically, these items belong to the same category (such as RAIN, SLEET, HAIL, and SNOW being various forms of precipitation), though occasionally you might encounter clues requiring puns or wordplay (like how BUCKET, GUEST, TOP TEN, and WISH can be linked through different linguistic twists). lists : bucket lists, guest lists, and similar items).
Choose four items and click the Submit button. Should your selection be correct, both the category and color will be disclosed to you (with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, then blue, and finally purple). In case of an error, you'll have another opportunity to make a new attempt.
The game concludes and reveals the answers once you've made four errors before successfully categorizing all four groups correctly. However, should you manage to identify each of the four categories without making four mistakes first, then you emerge as the winner.
How to win Connections
The key to winning at Connections lies in understanding that the categories are intentionally perplexing. Be prepared for intersecting sets. Take, as an illustration, a particular puzzle which appeared to feature six breakfast items: BACON, EGG, PANCAKE, OMELET, WAFFLE, and CEREAL. However, you might find that BACON actually belongs to another category altogether. painters Along with CLOSE, MUNCH, and WHISTLER, EGG was part of a set that typically comes in dozens (like JUROR, ROSE, and MONTH). Make sure not to click "submit" unless your quartet includes all these elements. only those four things.
If you're stuck, an additional approach is to examine the words that appear to be problematic. no When thinking about WHISTLER, if your first association is the painting commonly referred to as this nickname, then your connection to the others might be based on this artwork. “Whistler’s Mother,” It sounds like you could be onto something. After I managed to solve that puzzle, I even went as far as searching online to see if there was indeed a painter called Close, since "Close" seemed out of place with all the other clear themes.
A different approach to overcome being stuck is undoubtedly to review some useful tips—this is precisely why we provide these insights daily. Be sure to return tomorrow for the following challenge!
