North Country Showdown: Who Emerged Victorious in New York State's Primary?

Tuesday marks the primary election throughout New York state, with several prominent candidates vying for important positions across the Empire State.

The former governor Andrew Cuomo, who was attempting to secure the Democratic Party nomination for New York City mayor, conceded the race On Tuesday evening, he was introduced to 33-year-old State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani. Eric Adams, the current Mayor of New York City, is seeking re-election, albeit as an independent candidate.

The disgraced ex-congressman Anthony Weiner is aiming to make a comeback by seeking a seat on the New York City Council in District 2.

At the same time, in Essex County, political contests during the Republican primaries are taking place in Elizabethtown, North Hudson, Ticonderoga, Willsboro, and Wilmington.

Who Won?

Based on the non-official results provided by the Essex County, New York Board of Elections, Patti Doyle won the Republican primary election for Elizabethtown Clerk/Tax Collector.

Larry Koller and Brian DeZalia ahead in the competition for a position on the North Hudson Town Council.

Sally Wachowski won the Republican primary election for North Hudson Town Justice.

Thomas Dedrick and Philippe LaPerle Both competitors have progressed in the contest for Town Justice in Ticonderoga.

Darren Dickerson won the Republican Primary election for becoming the Supervisor of WillsboroTown.

Louis Adragna won the primary election for the position of Wilmington Township Superintendent of Highways.

In Franklin County, there isn’t a main contest, and only one election takes place in Clinton County for a seat on the Schuyler Falls town council. The voters had to select two candidates for this position. Nonetheless, the ballots did not include any candidate names.

Voters in Clinton County cast their write-in ballots Shelia Baker For one of the available roles, requiring four votes.
