NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — On Tuesday, all attention turns to New York City’s mayoral primary as residents cast their votes in these significant contests.
The polling stations will shut their doors at 9 p.m., and preliminary results might be available soon afterward, as stated by the city’s Board of Elections.
The most closely watched contest in the upcoming election is the Democratic primary for New York City Mayor. Current polls indicate that ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo maintains a significant advantage; however, Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani is rapidly gaining ground.

When do polls close?
The main election takes place on Tuesday, with polling stations available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. For your voting spot, you can locate it as needed. click here .
Voters needed to register by June 14 in order to participate in the primary election. They are limited to voting in the primary of the political party they belong to. For checking your voter registration status, click here .
Early voting It began on June 14 and concluded on June 22. You had the option to request a mail-in or absentee ballot online prior to June 14 and in person up until June 23.

At what point will we find out who has won?
On the evening of the primary election, the New York City Board of Elections will unveil the initial preference votes. A week thereafter, they will publish the outcomes of the ranked-choice voting.
