Hawaiian Airlines Suffers Cyber Attack Blow

Kamis, 26 Juni 2025, Juni 26, 2025

WASHINGTON () – Hawaiian Airlines stated on Thursday that certain of its IT systems experienced disruptions due to a cyberattack; however, the company noted that its flight operations continued as planned.

Hawaiian Airlines issued a statement indicating that "certain of our IT systems" were impacted by a "cybersecurity incident." While specifics about the situation weren’t provided, such terminology often points towards ransomware attacks—where hackers disable an organization’s computer networks unless they receive payment in cryptocurrencies.

The airline, part of the Alaska Air Group, stated they have "implemented measures to protect our operations," and confirmed that their flights continue to run safely and according to schedule.

I could not quickly determine the scale of the disturbance at Hawaiian, but a spokesperson replied with a Gmail address after being reached out to for additional information.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that their division focused on aviation safety is communicating with Hawaiian Airlines. The administration assured that “there have been no effects on safety, and the carrier keeps operating securely. We are keeping an eye on this scenario,” as mentioned in their official statement.
