6 New Federally Funded Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Launch in Pennsylvania, Including Cumberland County's Wawa

Upon the introduction of these six additional charging sites, Pennsylvania has risen to become the second state with the highest number of stations constructed through federal funding.

On Friday morning, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation revealed that six new electric vehicle charging stations, funded by federal resources, were now operational, with one located in Cumberland County known as Waa.

With the addition of six new units constructed in Pennsylvania, the total number of electric vehicle charging stations in the state now stands at 17, all facilitated through funding provided by the program. National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.

Since the first National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure A state-funded station launched in Pennsylvania has facilitated over 17,400 charging sessions at these stations. This has enabled approximately two million miles of driving and reduced CO2 emissions by more than 950,000 pounds, as reported by the State.

The federal government has committed over $9 million to establish the 17 stations in Pennsylvania.

The new stations can be found at these locations:

  • Wawa located at 100 Metropolitan Way in East Pennsboro Township, near I-81 (Exit 65A)
  • Tesla in New Castle, located in Lawrence County, on Route 224 alongside Interstate 376 (Exit 13), near Sheetz.
  • Love's Travel Stop at Brookville, Jefferson County, situated near I-80 (Exit 81)
  • Tesla in Fort Littleton, Fulton County, situated on Route 522 along Interstate 76 (Exit 180) at the 522 Pitstop
  • In Monroeville within Allegheny County, located near I-76 (Exit 57) and I-376 Exit 84 at the Penn Place Shopping Plaza, you can find EVgo.
  • Tesla in Meadville, located in Crawford County off of Interstate 79 (exit number 147), near Giant Eagle
