PARKERSBURG, W.Va (WTAP) — Various groups received recognition at the Wood County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening.
Different bands from around the county were honored and so were SkillsUSA winners. Ten of those students came back with medals. There was also a community service presentation by “Serenity Styles.” Stephen Tupitza was chosen as Teacher of the Year for Wood County. He was WTAP’s Jan Dils Golden Apple Award winner recently!
The Wood County Board of Education is purchasing land from the Erickson Corporation for use as baseball and softball fields at a cost of $135,000.
