LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Authorities have reported the arrest of a female suspect following a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in the southwestern part of Las Vegas on Sunday.
On Wednesday, law enforcement apprehended Dora Henderson, aged 22, regarding allegations linked to a hit-and-run accident. The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 10:30 p.m., when authorities were called to the vicinity of West Tropicana Avenue, situated east of Conquistador Street close to Hualapai Way, following reports of an automobile collision.
The evidence gathered from the site along with video recordings indicated that an SUV was moving eastward on Tropicana Avenue, just past Conquistador Street, when a woman was observed either kneeling or lying down within the road, according to law enforcement officials.
According to police, the SUV struck the pedestrian and proceeded to drive away without halting or going back to where the incident occurred.
The 41-year-old walker was transported to a nearby medical facility where she passed away. Authorities subsequently issued images of the alleged car involved in the accident as part of their efforts to locate the suspect driving it.
The police subsequently found and recognized the alleged car as a 2014 Ford Edge. The person believed to be driving, identified as Henderson, was apprehended and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
