Nate Bargatze and Academy Award-nominated Wicked Ariana Grande stars as the pop queen. Charli XCX and Lady Gaga took on dual responsibilities, whereas the previous individual cast members Chris Rock and Martin Short took the Studio 8H stage once again, with the latter finally becoming a Five-Timers Club member .
And so there were numerous SNL50 Celebrations honoring fifty years of the show since its debut in October 1975, including [deep breath] an four-part Peacock docuseries , a 50 Seasons Over 50 Days sketch countdown, the incredible 50 Years of Saturday Night Live Music documentary, and the astounding SNL50: The Homecoming Concert . It culminated in a three-hour event that brought together nearly every surviving current and former cast member along with many past hosts.
