Nevertheless, not all threads are neatly tied up since Symon Kharchenko (Andrej Kaminsky), who leads the local Russian mob, escapes unscathed despite failing to exact revenge on Cade following the deaths of his offspring.
However, The Unresolved Issues With The Russian Mafia Might Spark A Civil War (Alongside Additional Challenges For Levon)
If A Working Man Ultimately resulting in additional films, I can easily envision unresolved issues between Symon Kharchenko continuing to cause further complications for Levon Cade (alongside his loved ones) in future narratives. Furthermore, this conflict might escalate into an internal strife within their criminal network. As the film concludes, after Symon informs the "War Council" about Levon surviving the assault, they decide to leave matters untouched—a decision understandably distressing to the sorrowful parent.
I’ve watched enough great action movies And having delved into numerous captivating crime thriller narratives over the years, one understands that a parent driven mad by sorrow and anguish won't back down, regardless of advice from his accomplices to stay quiet. This could serve as an excellent foundation for a follow-up film or series. A Working Man As it would further develop Levon’s narrative and his journey toward a showdown with Symon, while also expanding the universe surrounding them, thereby increasing the overall stakes involved.
There will also undoubtedly be significant consequences for Levon's personal life following the movie's events.
Levon Cade positions himself as one of the most formidable figures in recent action movies, all while maintaining his role as a devoted father to his young daughter. However, staying out of conflict seems beyond him. The film sees him perpetually clashing with his father-in-law, Dr. Jordan Roth (Richard Heap), who blames Levon for contributing to his daughter's tragic death. Despite ultimately rescuing Dr. Roth from certain doom after the Russian mafia torched their home and left them for dead, Levon inadvertently triggered the attack in the first place.
Given the expensive lawyers Dr. Roth employed at the beginning of the film to ensure Levon and his daughter could hardly ever meet, along with the near-death experience caused by the ex-Royal Marines commando, it seems inevitable that there will be consequences for him once everything calms down. After all, isn't setting up these repercussions typically how a sequel kicks off?
It also seems like some characters were brought in with the intention of being developed further later on.
Have you ever watched a film where it introduces a character but seems to withhold their full potential for future installments? That was my experience with David Harbour’s Gunny Lefferty, an old army comrade of Levon Cade who became blind from combat injuries. Despite having several compelling moments and even safeguarding Levon's daughter during the final intense scene, I felt as though we barely scratched the surface of what this witty and capable character could achieve.
Early in the film, we have a moment where Gunny, despite being blind, shoots an arrow just beside Levon’s ear. Later, another scene depicts him describing various weapons located precisely around a room without relying on sight at all. While this allows him some standout moments, it seems as though there could be far more depth to uncover in these scenarios.
This could turn into one of Jason Statham's major franchises similar to The Beekeeper, The Transporter, and The Meg.
I’m buzzing with excitement for The Beekeeper 2 , but I have plenty of space in my heart for additional Jason Statham action series. Revisiting The Transporter before the release of A Working Man It was an exhilarating experience, leaving me eager for more movies starring this British action hero. I believe Levon Cade could join the ranks of icons like Frank Martin and Adam Clay, particularly considering the extensive series of novels penned by Chuck Dixon chronicling his adventures.
You could populate your whole timetable with upcoming book-to-screen adaptations Given the exploits of Levon Cade, since there are currently 10 installments in the series and more on the way. Considering all the available content and the thrilling fight scenes to adapt, this has potential for massive success! Perhaps this might result in yet another extension of the franchise. However, all of this relies on how well a working man does at the box office.
The only way A Working Man is set to receive a sequel and transform into the next Jason Statham franchise provided it performs strongly at the box office. Although this isn't the strongest opening for Statham's career, it was merely $1 million short of what The Beekeeper drew in audiences during its opening weekend from its release back in January 2024. As stated Box Office Mojo The David Ayer action movie concluded its theatrical run with earnings of $162.6 million, a sum sufficient for a follow-up film. While their next collaboration might not reach those heights, should it do so, we may see additional installments featuring Levon Cade in the future.
