President Donald Trump is anticipated to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House on Monday.
According to CNN, the visit takes place as the US government has imposed 17% tariffs on imports from Israel.
This development occurs as Israel broadens its land operations in northern Gaza, following the breakdown of a two-month cease-fire with the Palestinian militant organization Hamas in March.
Last Thursday, Trump and Netanyahu had a conversation over the phone.
Following their discussion, Trump informed journalists traveling with him on Air Force One that Gaza presents "a significant issue" which he aims to address.
"That’s another issue we want to resolve," Trump stated.
Gaza holds significant importance. It has faced a blockade for numerous years.
Trump will meet with Israel's Netanyahu at the White House.
