The former President stated his views when addressing journalists aboard Air Force One, emphasizing his backing of a tele-voting initiative for new parents proposed by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who became a mother two years ago.

Trump’s public break from Johnson wasn’t lost on CNBC’s Emily Wilkins, who pointed out the significance of the president throwing his support behind Luna, who ignited a fight when she initiated a petition earlier this week to compel the leadership of the Republican-controlled House to alter the rules.
“Wow. Considering how strongly Johnson has opposed allowing proxy voting, it’s significant that Trump has distanced himself from Johnson,” Wilkins posted Thursday on X.
Johnson reacted to Luna’s shove by cancelling All floor votes in the House for the rest of the week.
