President Donald Trump has been directed to pay £626,000 in legal costs following a lawsuit he initiated in England which was dismissed by the courts, according to reports. The Guardian .
Trump sued Orbis Business Intelligence, a consulting firm founded by Christopher Steele, who penned an extensive memo that claimed Trump was conspiring with Russia to win the 2016 election. The dossier also alleged that as a result of those relationships in Russia, Trump was "compromised."
The dossier caused a stir following allegations — which Trump refutes — that he was involved in "deviant" sexual activities.

In 2022, Trump filed a data protection case that was rejected in 2024. Judge Karen Steyn said At that point, "There aren’t strong grounds to permit the claim to go forward."

Trump was subsequently instructed to cover Orbis’s expenses for "the complete case," which involves an upfront amount of £290,000. At a hearing held in January, he was mandated to settle these charges within 28 days; otherwise, his attorneys would not be allowed to present arguments before the court in April regarding Orbis’s legal bills.
Indeed, the Guardian reported that Trump was barred from attending a three-day hearing aimed at determining the final amount of the bill. On Thursday, Judge Jason Rowley declared the sum owed, with President Trump now responsible for paying £626,058.98.
