New footage from TRON: Ares was revealed today during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation by two of its stars, Oscar winners Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges .
The video showcased the destruction caused when the advanced Program known as Ares transitions from the digital realm into our physical world. This marks humankind’s initial interaction with artificial intelligence entities, and based on the video, these encounters aren’t particularly friendly.
Leto portrays Ares, who embarks on a perilous mission to our world, leading him to intersect with Bridges' Kevin Flynn, the main character from the previous two TRON movies.
The video depicted Ares riding his crimson-lightened motorcycle as he sped through an actual urban setting, with police vehicles attempting to chase him but failing to keep up. Meanwhile, the frightened populace looked upwards in horror at a massive Recognizer floating above them. In a brief scene, Gillian Anderson appeared as a high-ranking corporate figure.
The focus of the video clip -- which was highlighted music by Nine Inch Nails -- focused on wild video game components infiltrating reality and the ensuing terror and devastation they could cause.
At some moment, we hear Flynn utter, "Are you prepared? Since there's no turning back." Following that, we observe Ares getting geared up for combat.
The cast also includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, and Cameron Monaghan.
