Teddi Mellencamp has posted a new health update.
The former star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" shared on social media this week that her melanoma diagnosis has advanced to stage 4.
Mellencamp, who initially received treatment for skin cancer in 2022, expressed gratitude to her fans in a video for their "numerous thoughtful messages."
“I simply wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone. There have been countless messages acknowledging my strength,” Mellencamp stated. “But let me share this: On certain days, I feel incredibly robust, yet on others, I experience profound sadness and isolation.” He continued, “I believe these emotions are typical for anyone facing such challenges, and they’re perfectly valid. A diagnosis of stage 4 cancer certainly comes with fear.”
Last month, she decided to Instagram along with details regarding her treatment.
"As per my latest scan results: I've got several tumors in my brain that couldn’t be surgically excised. Additionally, there are two tumors in my lungs,” she penned back then. “All these growths are secondary manifestations of my melanoma.”
Based on information from the American Cancer Society Melanoma is defined as "a form of skin cancer that arises when melanocytes (the cells responsible for providing the skin with its tan or brown hue) begin growing uncontrollably."
In February, Mellencamp, who works as a wellness coach and podcaster, informed her social media audience about undergoing urgent surgery to remove tumors from her brain.
In an interview with "Us Weekly This week, Mellencamp discussed the worsening of her condition, five years since she departed from the Bravo reality TV series. According to the report, she often told her children during her time on "The Real Housewives," "Moms always return."
“I haven’t uttered those words to them since my return,” she stated to the media outlet. “Everyone knows I’m giving it my absolute best effort, yet I haven’t mentioned this because I don’t wish to deceive them. Plus, I genuinely don’t know.”
