Some Saskatchewan Industries and corporations are feeling more at ease following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement about reciprocity. tariffs on Wednesday.
In his statement, Trump mentioned that items covered under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), which facilitates free trade among these nations, would remain exempt from any tariffs.
Canada was exempt from the initial 10 percent tariff set by Trump but is now facing 25 percent tariffs on vehicles, along with steel and aluminum products.
For certain entities such as Shercom Industries and the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan in Saskatchewan, this turned out to be primarily positive news.
