Phil Collins took to Instagram On April 3rd, which falls on a Thursday, he plans to reminisce about the year 1988 when his career shifted from music stardom to Hollywood fame.
The musician behind "In the AirTonight" shared a black-and-white image of himself Buster Edwards the character he played in the 1988 movie Buster. Collins appeared in the romantic comedy/drama centered around the Great Train Robbery along with actress Julie Walters Burt Reynolds also made an appearance in the movie.
Although Collins is most recognized for his work as a solo musician and leading Genesis, he started his entertainment journey as an actor, or more precisely as an extra, in the Beatles' 1964 movie. A Hard Day’s Night. He was one of the teens in the audience screaming as the Fab Four performed during a TV concert in the film. He went on to a few other roles, including a small part in the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but his scene didn’t make the final cut.
In the 1980s, Collins transitioned into acting as he desired a respite from his musical career. Ironically, though, the songs he composed during this period were destined for release. In 1994, Buster Edwards, known for his involvement in the Great Train Robbery which led to imprisonment, passed away after being discovered hanged in a garage. Besides his criminal activities, he had experience as a boxer and ran both a nightclub and a flower shop. The New York Times reported. He was 63.
