What was the initial obstacle faced tonight on Next Level Chef And who was the winner?

As previously stated, the initial challenge of the evening focused on technical skills. Because Team Ramsay emerged victorious from last week's contest, they had the privilege of preparing their dish in the upper-tier kitchen using oven-roasted techniques. Meanwhile, Team Arrington worked in the mid-level area with steamed dishes as their assignment. Lastly, Team Blais operated out of the lower-level space and took up the task of deep-frying.

The victor of the competition was Team Blais' Brandon Rogers, who transformed a halibut head into a champion version of shrimp and grits, complete with a poached egg atop.

"Honestly, to transform an undesired halibut head into something so magnificent, sheer joy," Gordon praised.

What was the elimination challenge tonight on Top Chef? Next Level Chef And who misplaced it?

In the elimination challenge, Nyesha and Gordon were tasked with choosing two chefs to compete using a specific cooking method: cedar board plank cooking. This technique involves preparing fish on a wooden board infused with cedar, which has roots in Native American culinary traditions from the Pacific Northwest region.

Nyesha opted to submit Iman, who erred by selecting frozen salmon patties as her main ingredient in the technical round and struggled to elevate them into an advanced steamed bao. Gordon picked Beatrice for the competition since although she previously achieved victory twice, her oven-roasted quail did not measure up during this particular challenge. Beatrice took the salmon for her cedar-planked preparation, which placed her ahead of Iman, who ended up with swordfish—a more challenging fish to prepare using this cooking method.

It has been an honor cooking alongside you," Iman stated. "At one point, I participated in a food show featuring some of the most awesome chefs in America. I reached the Top 10, prepared a magnificent final dish, and that was all.

Gordon then concluded the episode stating, "When we meet again, we will be tackling something unprecedented. This upcoming task will mark the toughest challenge yet in this contest."

Next Level Chef It airs every Thursday night at 8 PM Eastern Time/Pacific Time on FOX. You can stream it the following day on Hulu.
