Netflix has acquired a 'sharply intelligent' sitcom from David Mitchell and Robert Webb which has been described as "sharp as Peep Show."
Channel 4 'S Back featured the legendary British comedians engaging in on-screen arguments again across two seasons, crafted by the talented writer Simon Blackwell, known for his work on shows like The Thick of It, Veep, Four Lions, and Peep Show.
Audiences were highly amused by the initial batch of episodes in 2017, where David’s character, Stephen, took charge of the family pub named the John Barleycorn in Stroud, Gloucestershire, following his father's passing.
The situation became chaotic once Robert's character, Andrew, entered the picture. Having been a temporary ward of Stephen's parents after being a foster child, Andrew sought to reconnect with the family throughout the series.
Stephen was left feeling unimpressed, labeling the returning friend as 'a slick and perilous sociopath who's poised to take over his family, his business, and ultimately ruin his life.'
Disorder subsequently broke out across two hilariously entertaining seasons (with the latter debuting in 2021). According to positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, enthusiasts should thoroughly enjoy the program’s availability on the streaming platform.
The TV show has earned an impressive 97 percent approval rating from critics on the site, with audiences likewise flooding in to commend the series.

Initially when the show began, David illuminated his extensive professional partnership with Robert and explained how they evolved into successful comedy writers.
He stated: "Our collaboration began during our student days, and we simply thought ‘This feels right.’ We believed it was working, and since breaking into comedy is challenging enough, it would be foolish of us to let this opportunity go."
We've collaborated for more than two decades, experiencing times of incredible enjoyment as well as periods filled with despair and hopelessness.
There have been periods when we've been engaged in activities that we're thrilled about, yet we can't stand looking at each other anymore.

It emerged last month that the duo will reunite for Channel 4’s upcoming sketch series Mitchell & Webb, aiming to make a ‘daring comeback to British sketch comedy’.
