ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority plans to restart construction for its $230 million overhaul of Five Points Station starting from May 17.
This will cause significant detours for downtown buses.

What we knowThe much-awaited renovation, which was put on hold last summer for additional planning, will start with the dismantling and removal of the station’s concrete roof. This initiative seeks to transform Atlanta’s most active transportation hub into an energetic urban core featuring improved connections, better security, and modern passenger facilities.

MARTA stated in a release, “Throughout the deconstruction process, street-level station and elevator access along with bus services will continue uninterrupted on Forsyth Street.” They also noted that rail operations and transfers remain unaffected and will proceed according to schedule.

The bus services provided by local collaborators CobbLinc, Ride Gwinnett, and Xpress will maintain their usual timetables.
Information regarding the closure of entrances at Alabama Street, Broad Street Plaza, and Peachtree Street railway stations, along with details about office moves, will be disclosed once they have been confirmed.
