Governor Seyi Makinde has offered his sympathies to the family of the deceased Yekini Adeojo, who was a previous gubernatorial contender for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

Makinde’s sympathies were expressed following Adeojo’s burial in Ibadan, which is the state capital.

Portraying the ex-party member as one of the final few remaining, Makinde indicated that Adeojo’s passing signaled the conclusion of an illustrious political age.

This can be found in a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The governor likewise expressed his condolences to the PDP family in Oyo State, stating, "With Baba's passing, an illustrious political chapter comes to a close, as he stood among the final distinguished figures in this state who were leaders both politically and within their communities and places of worship. His absence will deeply resonate with members of the PDP family, whom he led and inspired for more than twenty years."

His passing will create a void not only within our great state but also in Nigeria since Baba dedicated himself fully to serving both our state and nation. I pray that God grants him peace, elevates him to Paradise, and supports the family he has left behind.

In his condolences, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who leads the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, conveyed profound grief regarding the passing of Adeojo.

In a statement issued through his Special Advisor on Media, Akeem Abas, Alli expressed that Adeojo’s death represents a significant loss for Yorubaland, the Muslim community, and the country as a whole.

The APC legislator stated that Adeojo led a fulfilling life dedicated to serving Allah, mankind, and his country.

He portrayed the deceased statesman as a source of insight and a monumental figure in politics, having a positive influence on numerous individuals regardless of their religious or political affiliations.

The legislator mentioned that the late Seriki was revered as a unifying figure whose impact extended beyond political spheres.

He observed that Adeojo’s extensive understanding of political tactics and Islamic principles commanded admiration throughout Yorubaland and Nigeria.
