The next day following her swearing-in ceremony at Congress, Representative Randy Fine (R-FL) participated in Thursday’s episode of The Source On CNN, when prompted to react to some harsh remarks made by the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis .

Fine emerged victorious in Tuesday’s special election in Florida’s 6th Congressional District, with a win over Democrat Josh Weil by 14 points , which was noticeably lacking compared to 21-point margin by which former Mike Waltz (R-FL) secured the district in November. (Waltz stepped down from the position to assume the role of President.) Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor and the nation's most renowned Signal app user.)

A previous state senator backed by Trump, Fine is a contentious individual. In a tweet from November, Fine referred to himself as "The Hebrew Hammer." suggested Muslim Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) exit Congress prior to his arrival. He added, “#BombsAway.”

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Presented were his commentsFine regarding these observationsDeSantis made about him on Wednesday:

I believe Randy Fine is your man—he secured victory but tends to be quite moderate; this could alienate voters. The voter turnout on Election Day was impressive for such a special Republican primary. I credit President Trump’s involvement for boosting these numbers.

I believe these voters weren't fond of Randy Fine, yet they decided to make a sacrifice for the greater good. They thought the president could use an extra vote, so they chose to support him. Therefore, I wouldn't interpret his poor performance as some kind of rejection of MAGA or Trump principles. Instead, I see it as a specific problem related to this individual candidate.

The clip concluded, and Collins pivoted towards Fine.

"I'm going to take a guess that you two aren't particularly close," she said flatly.

No," he responded. "Ron DeSantis is repulsed. me I believe this much is evident. However, Ron still hasn’t gotten over me supporting President Trump back in 2023. I was the initial lawmaker to pivot from another candidate to endorse President Trump. Additionally, I am the sole Jewish Republican serving in the Florida legislature, which garnered significant attention. Nonetheless, I have no interest in settling small-scale political grudges. Instead, my priority is increasing benefits for my constituency. While he dwells on old matters, I'm focused on moving forward."

Fine ultimately stated that the governor's comments were "disheartening."
