In New Hampshire, one out of every seven kids experiences hunger, and recently, a grocery store company has committed substantial funds to enhance students' availability to a nutritious morning meal.
On Thursday, Concord school authorities revealed that Hannaford would be investing $225,000 to assist various districts throughout the state in offering healthy breakfast options to their students.
Subscribe to our NewslettersAs reported by New Hampshire Hunger Solutions, nearly four out of every ten children in the state reside in households struggling with food insecurity.
Often, children don’t receive adequate nourishment at home, which means they depend on school meals for essential nutrients," explained Donna Reynolds, who leads nutrition efforts for Concord schools. "We aim to ensure that these resources are available and accessible to every student.

The initiative seeks to ensure that every student has access to a nutritious breakfast. Last year, four schools were involved, whereas currently, 46 schools collaborate with the organization.
"We are catering to the youngest and most susceptible individuals who will become adults in the future, and this initiative will aid in enhancing both their mental and physical well-being," stated Liz Boucher, a mother and registered dietitian.
Boucher emphasized that it's crucial to demonstrate healthy eating habits early on, with breakfast being a significant component of this practice.
