At m.k.contemporary art gallery in downtown Santa Cruz, curator Shelby Graham and artist Rinat Aldema Terre hung "Divergent Visions," an exhibition showcasing unconventional photographic techniques. This event, held on Thursday, is organized in collaboration with The Center for Photographic Art located in Carmel and Photo Carmel 2025. Artists featured in this downtown showcase encompass Graham, Terre, alongside Jody Alexander, Martha Casanave, Edgar Cruz, Genevieve Daly, Adrienne Defendi, Janet Fine, Laurie Gabriel, Angela Gleason, Greg Mettler, Beverly Rayner, and Brian Taylor. Running until April 27th, the exhibit invites visitors to attend a First Friday Opening Reception on April 4th starting at 6 p.m., as captured by Shmuel Thaler from the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

The Community of Digital Artists (CODA), featuring photographers Mark Overgaard, Maria Susa, and Robert Mahrer, is presenting their work at the R. Blitzer Gallery this week. This exhibition, curated by Center for Photographic Art’s Executive Director Ann Jastrab, covers several walls within the gallery located in the former Wrigley Gum factory area on Santa Cruz's Westside. To celebrate the event, the Blitzer Gallery has scheduled a First Friday reception with live music on April 4 starting at 5 p.m. Additionally, as part of a partnership with Photo Carmel 2025, the gallery will be hosting an artists’ talk with well-known local photographer Oliver Klink on April 26, which marks the last day of the exhibition.
