Vietnam is prepared to eliminate all tariffs for the United States. This could happen following an accord between both nations, as stated by U.S. President Donald Trump in a post on Truth Social.

Trump reported that he had held talks with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam. According to him, Lam stated that Vietnam is ready to reduce its tariffs to zero.

"Vietnam aims to reduce their tariffs to zero if they can reach an agreement with the US. On behalf of our nation, I expressed my gratitude and mentioned that I am looking forward to a meeting soon," stated the US president.

New Trump tariffs

The US President, Donald Trump, has announced new tariffs on imports from every nation, set to take effect on April 2, 2025. The tariff rates will vary between 10% and 50%, contingent upon which country is sending the products into the United States.

Specifically, a 10% tariff has been imposed on imports from Ukraine. In response to this measure, Canada has decided to apply a 25% tariff on vehicles imported from the United States.

The United Kingdom similarly got ready with a countermeasure, publishing an array of 8,000 American goods that might face tariff imposition. The roster encompasses a wide range of products, including everything from binoculars to bourbon whiskey.

When Trump introduced new tariffs on imported items from different nations, he didn’t exempt the uninhabited islands home to penguins.
