The Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, is reportedly jumping out of a window following the destruction of his "reputation" due to Trump’s failed tariff policies, according to claims. MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle on Friday.
"Some sources have informed me that he is searching for a way out to make his move towards the Fed, as over the past several days, he has been significantly damaging his reputation and track record in the market," Ruhle stated. MSNBC’s Morning Joe, according to Daily Beast.
Bessent, who amassed a $500 million fortune through his work at a hedge fund prior to joining forces with Trump and having his name associated with Trump’s activities, “Liberation Day” tariff was not an ardent advocate of previous tariff suggestions. Following Trump’s announcement of the new trade tariffs this week, went to play golf , Bessent found himself urging international allies not to retaliate.

“ I would counsel all these nations not to panic. There's no need to seek revenge since, as long as there's no retaliation, these figures represent the upper limit. In my view, the markets should feel confident that this figure will hold unless there's some form of reprisal," Bessent stated to Bloomberg. "Now we have an established ceiling, and we can determine whether there might be a new baseline."
Many of America's international trading partners pushed back against allowing Trump to treat them unfairly, nonetheless. China launched reciprocal duties, escalating a trade conflict with American products and causing the Dow Jones to fall over 2,200 points by the time the Friday bell rings. Ruhle mentioned that according to her sources, Trump isn’t heeding the advice of his treasury secretary, which could lead to him disregarding one of the more level-headed perspectives within the administration who understands market dynamics well.
"[Bessent] genuinely grasps how the markets function, and what's occurring at present will end up harming these markets," she stated.

As president-elect, Trump claimed In November, Bessent will assist me in inaugurating a new Golden Era for the United States.
