The Great Marshmallow Drop hosted by Oakland County Parks & Recreation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on April 18 at Worden Park located at the intersection of Lexington Boulevard and Crooks Road in Royal Oak (a new venue this year). During the event, a helicopter will release over 15,000 soft marshmallows. There will be four designated zones for drops: - One starting at 10 a.m., intended for children aged 4 years old and under. - Another beginning simultaneously for kids between 5 and 7 years old. - A third one also kicking off at 10 a.m. aimed at those aged 8 through 12. - At 11 a.m., there'll be an additional drop specifically designed for people with disabilities across various age ranges. An ASL interpreter will be present during the event, along with a quiet area within a dedicated tent. It should be noted that participation does not constitute a contest—everyone involved who is either below 13 years of age or has a disability can expect to get a gift as appreciation.
