A long-standing EastEnders A cast member is withdrawing from the BBC soap opera following their unexpected casting as the lead in a new project.
Michelle Collins , aged 62, originated the role of Cindy Beale in the widely adored series back in 1988 and then unexpectedly reprised the part in 2023 following her character’s supposed demise during childbirth some 25 years prior.
Collins will now step away from Albert Square to make her acting debut elsewhere. Edinburgh Fringe Festival as the star of the comedy series Motorhome Marilyn .
