Bella Ramsey, who stars in the popular series "The Last of Us," mentioned that a new addition to the cast for the second season is 'rather unstable.'
The HBO show is set to come back to our screens later this month, with its debut episode scheduled for April 13. This is among the highly looked-forward-to returns to TV this year, particularly since its initial run garnered a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Audiences are eagerly anticipating how things unfold following the cliffhanger ending of season one. In this new chapter, Ellie portrayed by Ramsey, alongside Joel acted out by Pedro Pascal, must grapple with the consequences down the line. For those familiar with the source material from the original Naughty Dog video game, they might have some insight into upcoming events; however, several alterations and fresh elements have already been hinted at.

This involves incorporating new characters from The Last of Us Part II, which was initially launched for PlayStation 4 in 2020. Among them is Dina, who starts as one of Ellie’s dearest friends but evolves into something far greater.
Isabela Merced has been cast to play the role in the TV adaptation, and prior to her appearance, Ramsey was queried about the experience of collaborating with her during filming, particularly since they have extensive scenes together.
Ramsey mentioned: "Initially, my perception of Isabela was that she came across as very outgoing contrasted with myself. I tend to be rather reserved, whereas she is incredibly approachable, amusing, and skilled in conversation. Simply delightful company. Her vibrant spirit kept me energized for the entire duration of the season."
It's incredibly vital to have somebody like her around on set; she adds an element of lighthearted fun and unpredictability. She has this unrestrained quality about her, but in such a positive manner! Unlike me, she managed to make me feel more at ease and carefree; undoubtedly, she knows how to keep the energy vibrant.
Merced has previously taken on roles such as Dora in the live-action film adaptation of the children's series "Dora the Explorer," as well as appearing in "Madame Web" and "Alien: Romulus." She is set to star as Hawkgirl in the forthcoming Superman movie directed by James Gunn.
Suggesting insights into their characters' dynamic on The Last of Us, Ramsey elaborated: "Ellie and Dina truly complement one another, akin to how Isabela and I do. Ellie tends to have a tough exterior with restrained feelings, whereas Dina expresses hers more openly."
They went on to say: "Dina evokes a sense of lightheartedness in Ellie that seems to reconnect with her inner child and bring forth her youthful happiness. It’s wonderful to see their bond grow and evolve."
New additions to the cast for season two include Young Mazino portraying Jesse and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
In the meantime, Catherine O'Hagan and Joe Pantoliano are portraying characters absent from the initial video games. Jeffrey Wright will take on the part of Isaac, a character he previously voiced in the PlayStation follow-up.
The second season of The Last of Us will premiere on HBO and be available for streaming on MAX starting April 13.
