ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Balloons were released in the Kirkwood neighborhood as tribute to rapper Young Scooter on Thursday evening.
It’s going to be terrible without him. We adore Scooter," remarked Mary Ragsdale, who acted like an aunt to the rapper during his upbringing in the Kirkwood area. "It’s going to be truly horrible and heartbreaking without Scooter. It won’t be the same; things will never go back to how they were.
Scooter was an amazing, amazing individual. He adored everybody in Kirkwood. He had love for all people universally. He was a fantastic man and his absence will be felt deeply.
The artist known as Kenneth Bailey passed away on his 39th birthday. According to law enforcement officials, they received a 911 report concerning an apparent domestic disturbance which turned out to be false. Officers state that Young Scooter fled from them and scaled two fences. It’s reported he sustained injuries to his leg from the wooden fence posts, leading ultimately to death due to blood loss, as confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner.
"It's incredible," remarked DJ X-Rated, who hosted the vigil.
"It represents a significant setback for hip-hop," stated FBG Rockstar Lamborghini, who worked alongside Young Scooter.
During the balloon ceremony, they played Young Scooter’s tracks.
“I just say it was street. It’s worldwide through every hood in America. Long live Little Scooter like he’s one of the greatest from Kirkwood,” said FBG Rockstar Lamborghini.
"Take a look as though he's cherished, and his impact will endure, we're gonna represent for Scooter," stated DJ X-Rated.
The police have taken into custody Demetria Spence for allegedly placing a bogus 911 call related to Young Scooter’s death.
