A North Austin A mortuary worker is now charged with felonies for reportedly conducting experiments on bodies and improperly acquiring death certificates.
Adeline Ngan-Binh Bui, aged 50, faces charges including one count of state jail felony for abusing a corpse and five counts of second-degree felony for tampering with governmental records with the aim to defraud or cause harm.

A former embalmer at Capital Mortuary Services has alleged to TFSC that Bui had "fraudulently initiated and obtained" at least ten death certificates under his name and license number without consent.
He claims that Bui was conducting experiments on "disembodied parts." Specifically, he mentioned the arms from an unidentified deceased individual. According to court papers, this "study" entailed introducing formaldehyde into these detached arms and monitoring their condition over time.

The previous embalmer states that his role at Capital Mortuary Services did not include being a funeral director; rather, he worked as a crematory operator, driver, and embalmer.
He claims he never used the Texas Electronic Vital Events Registrar (TxEVER) system to get those eight death certificates.

Buie reportedly had communication with a past employee about a fake certificate in December 2023, during which she shared some screenshots.
Allegedly, Bui penned "let’s use this update to track our experiment," accompanied by photographs that authorities claim depicted disconnected and decomposing limbs at different stages of decay.
