Amazon has begun testing a new artificial intelligence shopping assistant, which they refer to as "Buy for Me," among a select group of users, the company disclosed recently. blog post Thursday.

In the background, Amazon’s artificial intelligence shopping assistant will browse an external site, choose a product based on the user's request, and complete the purchase by filling in the customer’s name, delivery address, and payment information as per Amazon's statement.

Amazon states that the updated autonomous shopping function leverages their Amazon Nova AI models along with Anthropic’s Claude system. These models might include one such option. Nova Act Earlier this week, Amazon introduced an AI agent capable of browsing websites independently.

In the mentioned blog post, Amazon stated that Buy for Me employs encryption to "safely" embed your payment details on external websites, ensuring that Amazon cannot view what you're purchasing beyond its own platform. OpenAI and Google’s agencies that necessitate individuals to manually enter their credit card details, as well as Perplexity’s AI agent which includes a prepaid debit card for making purchases.
