9-1-1 Fans, celebrate! Following 13 torturous episodes, the series seems to be concluding a plotline that perhaps shouldn’t have been initiated from the start.
Let me start by saying that I wasn’t exactly opposed to Eddie cheating on Marisol With someone resembling his deceased former wife. It wasn’t just another over-the-top move typical of series bearing Ryan Murphy’s imprint; additionally, I didn’t care much about Eddie's connection with Marisol. In fact, I’m still attempting to erase from memory when he reacted oddly upon discovering her near-vow to become a nun.
I even thought that Christopher discovering Eddie's affair , and the resulting consequences, might add an intriguing twist to the relationships among the well-loved characters. Having Christopher suddenly relocate to Texas with his grandparents seemed somewhat drastic, but I assumed it was intended to create additional drama. Season 7 finale a little more intense give it some zazz As Nicole Kidman might put it, I also presumed, like numerous viewers likely did, that Eddie and Christopher would reunite under the same roof relatively soon into Season 8.
Instead, Christopher stayed in Texas indefinitely, with his absence casting a shadow over all aspects of Eddie's life. and facial hair It was like a dark cloud hanging over everything. Instead of enjoying the portrayal of Eddie and Christopher navigating their problems side by side, viewers were forced to endure Eddie’s constant self-pity until he became almost unrecognizable to us.
The show appears to have resolved this issue in Thursday's episode when Eddie instructed – rather than asked – Christopher to return home with him after an enlightening weekend at a chess competition. During what could be considered one of their most genuine scenes so far this season, Eddie stepped in to help Christopher who had thrown up during an intense game. While Eddie tended to him,Christopher confessed that he doesn’t really like playing chess; he did it solely because his grandfather liked teaching him the game.
Eddie announced firmly, 'You’re returning home with me, period,' eliciting zero resistance from Christopher. ‘Will you become my dad once more?’Christopher questioned hopefully. To which Eddie replied warmly, ‘I’ve always been your father; now I intend to behave like one.’
As much as I appreciated the emotional weight of that last line, it also irked me. Eddie may have a disastrous track record in the romance department, but he's a great father. That's always been one of his most admirable qualities, and I'm still not sure why it was ever really called into question. His indiscretion with Kim had everything to do with him and nothing to do with Christopher.
Given how Eddie has been treated by his family this season, one might assume he just got out of jail for something truly horrific. (Seriously, who’s behind this script, Marisol?) Isn’t it just me, or have Eddie’s folks turned into near antagonists here? Since arriving in El Paso, every move they’ve made seems designed to keep him distant from Christopher instead of assisting them in rebuilding their bond.
So, where do we proceed next? What steps should Eddie take to reunite with the 118 when Christopher seems settled in Texas? Furthermore, assuming Christopher decides he wishes to relocate to Los Angeles, wouldn’t that mean Eddy’s investment in that quaint fixer-upper would be at risk? Keep in mind, they really rely on having him back with the 118. yesterday .
Since I seem to be brimming with positivity today, allow me to share yet another complaint regarding this week’s episode: It makes sense that the colleagues at the 118 might overlook Hen's birthday; after all, they’re not intimately connected. Even Denny forgetting isn’t too far-fetched since he’s still young. However, should we accept that Karen Wilson, named Person of the Year, could ignore such a significant day? She strikes me as someone who’d constantly remind Hen about it. weeks regarding her preferences for celebration.
