SWAT is drawing to a close, and as it wraps up, there are five characters we hope to see return! Unfortunately, one character whom we really wanted to come back has been confirmed as unavailable, so they're off our list.
Fans of SWAT has twice announced via CBS that the show was being cancelled. Nevertheless, it appears as though This time it’s really happening. , with the series scheduled to conclude in May With its eighth season now upon us, thankfully this has provided the creators with ample time to develop a genuine series conclusion. This could ideally involve reviving some familiar characters from years gone by.
Over the years, the show has experienced a turnover of cast members, with several deserving some resolution. Unfortunately, it’s confirmed Rochelle Aytes won't be able to reprise her role as Nichelle before the finale (owing to her commitment to another project) Watson There are several other entertaining characters that could make a great comeback for the final episodes. Before SWAT concludes, here are five characters we'd like to see return!
Street
Jim Street rose well in SWAT From a zealous newcomer to a competent leader, Street’s journey was well-crafted through his dealings with his addicted mother and the challenging circumstances that propelled him forward. His storyline concluded positively when he assumed command of a SWAT team in San Diego and disclosed his intention to propose to Chris.
Sending the squad to San Diego for an investigation could naturally reunite them with Street. It would be delightful to witness Hondo and Deacon fully embrace him as their peer, recognizing his significant growth over time. A touching conclusion for Street would involve showcasing his development into a commanding leader in his own capacity, highlighting his extensive arc throughout the series.
Luca
Once the producers realized that season 7 would mark the conclusion of the series, they carefully designed apparent farewell moments for each character. This encompassed Luca , who was randomly shot by an unknown criminal and as a result of his injuries, he became unfit for service with SWAT. Since he couldn't handle administrative duties, he decided to retire from law enforcement.
Luca merits a proper send-off and a brighter conclusion. Perhaps he has turned his security firm into a thriving business and learned to move past not being a police officer anymore. Reconnecting with his half-sister and family could also add depth to his story. Since Luca didn’t get the heartfelt farewell he deserved, this would serve as an excellent opportunity to rectify that and offer him a fittingly commendable adieu. SWAT fans.
Chris
Since we're reviving Street, we might as well include Chris too. It would also help to clarify whether she accepted Street’s proposal and how she’s adapting to this fresh chapter of her life. Given all the personal struggles she faced, it'd be great to witness her in a more positive state of mind and relieved from those heavy burdens.
If there’s one ideal finale scene for the series, it would be all members of the team coming together for this moment. Street and Chris’s wedding. It will be wonderful as the grand finale of the show and the culmination of their extended connection, providing one of the most joyful conclusions fans could hope for.
Buck Spivey
The pilot for SWAT began with Buck Spivey leading, but he resigned after unintentionally injuring a child; subsequently, Hondo assumed command. Throughout the series, Spivey appeared frequently, notably in an intense episode where his past military trauma almost led him to commit suicide. Fortunately, he has recovered since then.
Bringing Spivey back into the final episodes would complete the story arc. He could provide crucial details about a case or maybe assume a fresh role within the LAPD. SWAT Started with Spivey, concluding it with him only feels right.
Jessica Cortez
This could be a long shot, but if SWAT is bringing back old faces Jessica Cortez's comeback could add an exciting turn to the story. When the series first started, Captain was initially the leader of the team, previously involved romantically with Hondo before their relationship ended due to his promotion. Known for being a formidable officer, Cortez struggled with balancing the concerns of civilians and the LAPD, frequently clashing with those higher up in command.
The character departed at the end of season 3 to become part of the FBI. It might add an intriguing twist if she returns by having Cortez switch back to the LAPD for a case, leading to their reunion with Hondo. Bringing back Stephanie Sigman would provide a fresh yet fitting closure to this storyline. SWAT By reintroducing a member of the initial cast.
